2 affordable outfit ideas: What I spent where
I don’t have a big clothing budget. But I don’t let that stop me from putting together awesome outfits! Are you curious about where I shop, and how I style myself for way less than it appears? Here are two totally affordable outfit ideas built around wardrobe staples:
Affordable outfit idea #1: Casual, weekend wear
This is such a great weekend outfit. I wear variations of this to work with some cropped black ankle pants or a pencil skirt to dress it up a bit.
Military field jacket from Old Navy (It’s still available for $44.94 at the time of publishing. But of course I didn’t pay full price, because that’s how I roll. I found it on sale, and had a rewards coupon and got it for around $20!)
Black t-shirt from TJ Maxx $5.99
Jeans from The Gap $35 on clearance!
Slip-on animal-print shoes: Dr. Scholl’s from DSW (at the time of publishing still available for 39.95. But I found them on clearance at the store and had a coupon, so I got them for $19!)
Black faux leather cross body bag and tote from TJ Maxx: $34 for the set! (It’s not available any more, but you can find similar black cross body bags on their web site.)
Affordable outfit idea #2: Wear to work
I wear outfits like this to work a lot. These side-zip ankle boots are a total staple of my wardrobe. I literally (and I do mean literally) wear them with everything. They work with skirts of any length, and they work especially well with this midi-length pencil skirt from H&M.
Cropped, black, buttery leather jacket: I found this for $34 at Blue, which is a Goodwill boutique where they sell the stuff that’s too nice to sell in their regular stores. Here’s a similar leather jacket from Amazon.com (affiliate link).
Pink silk-look sleeveless button-up blouse, tied at waist: $5.99 from the Goodwill. Here’s a similar blouse from Amazon (affiliate link.)
Black leather wrap bracelet from Lia Sophia: $20. It’s not available anymore, but here’s a similar bracelet from Amazon (affiliate link).
Gray jersey pencil skirt from H&M: I found on sale for $10. It’s still available online for $12.99.
Black side-zip booties from T.J.Maxx: around $20. They’re not available anymore, but you can find similar boots on their web site.
